Crossing the Alps as a 3D Relief: E5, Munich to Venice and More
Handmade in the Bavarian Alps.

As a gift or keepsake for a crossing of the Alps, we make a 3D relief of the route, with the trail running through the terrain as a raised line. Ready-made, you will find the E5 from Oberstdorf to Merano, the Dream Path from Munich to Venice and other routes, and for your own route you upload your recording as a GPX file. The relief is 3D printed from exact LiDAR elevation data and mounted on a solid wood base, oak or stone pine. The laser engraving in the base records kilometers, elevation gain and the year.

Which crossings of the Alps are available as a ready-made relief?

As a ready-made Relief Track, with the route as a raised line in the model, the shop has four crossings of the Alps:

The E5 is also available as a TrailMap: contour lines engraved in oak, the route as a tactile 3D line on top. For the Transalpine Run there are a Relief Track and a TrailMap.

Can I order my own crossing of the Alps as a relief?

Yes, with the Relief Track. You upload your recording as a GPX file or add a link to Strava, Komoot or Garmin. In the live 3D configurator you search for the place by name, move the area and see the relief from all sides before you order. So the relief also fits your own variant: a different starting town, a detour to a hut, a different order of stages.

Can several stages go on one relief?

Yes, as long as they lie within the chosen area. One track can contain several stages in a row. Up to two tracks can be combined on one relief, for example two sections from different years, or the main route and a variant. The relief comes in five sizes from S at 10 × 10 cm to XXL at 28 × 28 cm, as Base (desk version) or Wall (wall relief).

Does this work for an Alpine crossing by mountain bike?

Yes. What counts for the relief is the recording, not the sport: a Transalp by mountain bike goes onto the model as a GPX file or link just like a hike on foot or a stage run. The line sits raised in the terrain, in red or white as the contrast color.

What can be engraved on the base?

The laser engraving in the wooden base holds up to three lines, on Base and Wall alike. For a crossing of the Alps, the route, kilometers, elevation gain and the year work well, for example “E5 · Oberstdorf · Merano” in the first line, the numbers in the second and the year in the third. About two out of three orders carry an engraving, and just under half of those include a date. Everything is engraved exactly as entered.

What do you give someone after crossing the Alps?

A relief of exactly the route they hiked or rode. If it is ready-made in the shop, all that is left is to choose size, version and wood. For your own route, the recipient’s recording helps, and the track can also be sent by email after ordering. If you don’t know the route, give a gift card: download and print, valid for two years.

Where is the relief made?

Every relief is made individually in our workshop in the Bavarian Alps, since 2022: 3D printed from exact LiDAR elevation data and mounted on the solid wood base, oak or stone pine. We ship to over 35 countries, duties included for deliveries abroad.
