This Natural mountain model shows the region as a 3D model on a solid wood base, colored by land cover, with the Höhenweg as a raised line.

From hut to hut through the Zillertal Alps

The trail links numerous huts. Via the Hermann-Hecht-Weg it leads from Finkenberg to the Gamshütte, then on the longest stage to the Friesenberghaus and on to the Olpererhütte. Along the Schlegeisspeicher the trail runs to the Furtschaglhaus and over the Schönbichler Horn, at 3,133 m the highest point of the trail, to the Berliner Hütte. Over the Mörchnerscharte comes the Greizer Hütte, then the Kasseler Hütte, and on the Siebenschneidenweg, named after the seven ridges it crosses, the Edelhütte. From there it goes down to Mayrhofen. Together with the Aschaffenburger Höhenweg, the trail is now promoted as the Zillertal Circuit.

How the Berliner Höhenweg came to be

The Berlin section of the German and Austrian Alpine Club built the Berliner Hütte starting in 1879. In 1889 a path over the Schönbichler Horn to the Furtschaglhaus was completed, built from slabs of granite and gneiss; this section was the seed of the later high trail. The Schlegeisspeicher, built from 1965 to 1973, flooded the old path through the Schlegeisgrund. From 1968 the section from the Friesenberghaus to the Gamshütte was built, and it was inaugurated in July 1976.

What the relief shows

The coloring follows the land cover in four muted color classes: rock and scree dark gray, forest and meadows dark green, water such as the Schlegeisspeicher dark blue, glaciers, snow and ice white. On top lies the Berliner Höhenweg as a raised line set apart in color.

Berliner Höhenweg relief: data

Sizes: S 10 x 10 cm, M 15 x 15 cm, L 20 x 20 cm, XL 25 x 25 cm, XXL 28 x 28 cm

Version: Base to stand on a shelf or table, or Wall for hanging

Base: solid wood, oak or Swiss stone pine

Production: 3D printed, mounted on the wooden base, handmade in the Chiemgau

Berliner Höhenweg as a gift

Schönbichler Horn, Mörchnerscharte and Siebenschneidenweg on a solid wood base: a mountain model for hut-to-hut hikers who have walked the Berliner Höhenweg or plan to.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0639/5946/6196/files/RTN-00002_200_BASE_Eiche_Natural_TrackRot_Camera.008.jpg?v=1786989425
