3D Relief Map of the Alps
Handmade in the Bavarian Alps.

A relief map of the Alps as a 3D relief is available from us for 17 mountain ranges, including the Wetterstein Mountains with the Zugspitze, the Berchtesgaden Alps, the Dolomites, the Valais Alps and the Mont Blanc Massif. Every relief is 3D printed from exact LiDAR elevation data and mounted on a solid wood base, oak or stone pine. You choose your own area of the Alps in the live 3D configurator, in a single color as Relief Classic or with true-to-nature coloring as Relief Natural.

Can I order my own area of the Alps as a relief?

Yes, any area can be chosen in the live 3D configurator. You search for a place by name, move the area and see the relief from all sides before you order. The Relief Classic shows the terrain in a single color. The Relief Natural carries true-to-nature coloring with forest, meadow, rock, water and snow, and you set the snow line yourself, in summer or winter mode. Both come in five sizes from S at 10 × 10 cm to XXL at 28 × 28 cm, as Base (desk version) or Wall (wall relief).

How does a 3D map of the Alps differ from a classic relief map?

A classic relief map shows a large area with names, lines and colors and exaggerates the mountains heavily so they stand out on the flat surface. Our relief shows a smaller area, a mountain range, a single mountain or a tour, as a shape from elevation data: ridges, gullies and cirques rise from the surface. You set the vertical scale yourself in the configurator, and names and dates go onto the base as an engraving. More in the guide Relief Map or Mountain Relief.

Can a route through the Alps be shown on the relief?

Yes, with the Relief Track. The route runs through the terrain as a raised, modeled 3D line, in red or white as the contrast color. You upload it as a GPX file or add a link to Strava, Komoot or Garmin, and up to two tracks fit on one relief. Ready-made options include crossings of the Alps such as the E5 from Oberstdorf to Merano and Alpine passes such as the Stelvio Pass, Timmelsjoch, Furka and Grimsel.

What can be engraved on the base?

The laser engraving in the wooden base holds up to three lines, on Base and Wall alike. The content is up to you: a name, a date, coordinates or the elevation of a summit. About two out of three orders carry an engraving. Everything is engraved exactly as entered.

Where is the relief made?

Every relief is made individually in our workshop in the Bavarian Alps, since 2022. We ship to over 35 countries, duties included for deliveries abroad. If you don’t know the right mountain range yet, give a gift card: download and print, valid for two years.
