From the Pfitscher Tal, the approach leads to the Hochfeilerhütte (2710 m): a three-hour hike with a cable-secured section and exposed stretches on steep grass slopes. From the hut, the normal route, the easiest ascent, leads in about 2.5 hours over the southwest ridge to the summit cross, which was renewed in summer 2021. Shortly after the hut comes a rope-secured steep step, and short sections on the summit ridge reach grade UIAA I. The first ascensionists on July 24, 1865 already used the southwest ridge, back then via the Gliderferner: Paul Grohmann with the mountain guides Georg Samer, Josele Steinklauber and Peter Fuchs.

Peaks around the Hochfeiler

Besides the Hochfeiler, the relief includes the Hochfernerspitze (3470 m), also called Hochferner for short, and the Hochfeilerhütte, inaugurated on September 14, 1986. The Hochfeiler is surrounded by glaciers: to the north and east the Schlegeiskees, the largest glacier in the area, to the south the Gliderferner, to the west the Weißkarferner. Between the hut and the summit runs a marble band in a southwest-northeast direction.

Hochfeiler Normal Route Relief: Data

Track: the route as a colored, raised line on the relief

Data basis: LiDAR elevation data for the Zillertal Alps

Relief: 3D print in PLA, a bio-based polymer made mostly from renewable raw materials

Base: solid wood, oiled, choice of oak or Swiss stone pine

Sizes: 10x10, 15x15, 20x20, 25x25 and 28x28 cm

Version: Base to stand on a shelf or table, or Wall for hanging; price depends on size, version and wood

Manufacturing: handmade in Bavaria, alpen-werk logo engraved in the base, optional custom engraving

Hochfeiler Normal Route as a gift

With this relief you can give the ascent from the Hochfeilerhütte over the southwest ridge to the summit cross to mountaineers after their day on the highest mountain in the Zillertal Alps.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0639/5946/6196/files/RT-01048_v6_Camera010_BASE_Eiche_Hellgrau.jpg?v=1787021181
