This track follows the north ascent, the only one that begins in the state of Salzburg: at the Kürsingerhütte (2558 m). From the hut a hiking trail leads to the Venedigerkees, over the glacier via the Venedigerscharte to the east ridge and over it to the summit cross. Technically the ascent is not difficult, but it leads over crevassed glacier terrain. A group led by Josef Schwab first stood on the summit on September 3, 1841, with Ignaz von Kürsinger among them, after whom the hut is named.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003ePeaks at the Großvenediger\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the relief, besides the Großvenediger, lie the Kleinvenediger (3468 m), separated from the Großvenediger by the Venedigerscharte (3387 m), the Große Geiger (3360 m) and the Keeskogel (3291 m), below which the Kürsingerhütte stands.
