A detour leads to the find site at the Tisenjoch (3188 m): here Erika and Helmut Simon discovered the glacier mummy Ötzi on September 19, 1991. From the hut the normal route leads as a high-alpine tour with glacier equipment over the Niederjochferner, past the Little Similaun, and over the west ridge with a short climbing section (I) to the summit of the Similaun (3599 m).

Peaks at the Similaun

The Similaun belongs to the Schnals Crest of the Ötztal Alps and lies on the border between Tyrol and South Tyrol. The dome of the Little Similaun (3364 m) sits on its west ridge. Within the model lies the Fineilspitze (3514 m) beyond the Niederjoch (3012 m) and Tisenjoch, and at the edge of the relief the Western Marzellspitze (3529 m), separated from the Similaun by the Similaunjoch (3349 m). The first tourist ascent of the Similaun took place in 1834 by the clergyman Theodor Kaserer, guided by Josef Raffeiner, from Unser Frau in the Schnalstal.

Relief Similaun: Data

Track: the route as a colored, raised line on the relief

Data basis: LiDAR elevation data for the Ötztal Alps

Relief: 3D print in PLA, a bio-based polymer made mostly from renewable raw materials

Base: solid wood, oiled, choice of oak or Swiss stone pine

Sizes: 10x10, 15x15, 20x20, 25x25 and 28x28 cm

Version: Base to stand on a shelf or table, or Wall for hanging; price depends on size, version and wood

Manufacturing: handmade in Bavaria, alpen-werk logo engraved in the base, optional custom engraving

Similaun as a gift

For the high-alpine tour from the Similaunhütte to the Similaun, with the detour to the Tisenjoch: a gift for climbers who ascended from the Schnalstal.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0639/5946/6196/files/RT-01047_v6_Camera010_BASE_Eiche_Hellgrau.jpg?v=1787018536
