The via ferrata begins there. It mostly runs directly along the ridge edge, over gorges such as the Jungfrauensprung and Teufelsschlucht and over eight, in part very pointed, towers. Stations are the Teufelshörndl (2522 m), the Dientner Schneid and the Kematstein, and the exit is at the Hohe Kopf (2875 m). About 1700 meters of climbing, difficulty C/D. Afterward it continues up the Hochkönig to the Matrashaus and on the normal route past the Torsäule down to the Mitterfeldalm and the Arthurhaus.

Peaks on the Königsjodler

The Hohe Kopf (2875 m) is the end point of the via ferrata. The Hochkönig (2941 m) is the highest massif of the Berchtesgaden Alps, and on its summit stands the Matrashaus of the Austrian Touring Club. On the summit plateau lies the Übergossene Alm, a plateau glacier that had melted to less than 0.2 km² by 2023. The section also shows the Lamkopf (2846 m), the Große Bratschenkopf (2857 m), the Kleine Bratschenkopf (2686 m) and the Torsäule (2588 m).

Königsjodler relief: data

Track: the route as a colored, raised line on the relief

Data basis: high-precision LiDAR elevation data for the Berchtesgaden Alps, accurate to the millimeter

Relief: 3D print in PLA, a bio-based polymer made mostly from renewable raw materials

Base: solid wood, oiled, choice of oak or Swiss stone pine

Sizes: 10x10, 15x15, 20x20, 25x25 and 28x28 cm

Version: Base to stand on a shelf or table, or Wall for hanging; price depends on size, version and wood

Manufacturing: handmade in Bavaria, alpen-werk logo engraved in the base, optional custom engraving

Königsjodler as a gift

The relief recalls the route from the Erichhütte over the Teufelshörndl and Hohe Kopf to the Matrashaus, as a gift for via ferrata climbers before or after the Königsjodler.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0639/5946/6196/files/hero1_WALL_Zirbe_192c659c-6802-4eb0-8c10-5d4de5feb577.jpg?v=1786284681
