The E101 otherwise leads from Grindelwald over the Grosse Scheidegg, First, Bussalp, Faulhorn and Schynige Platte to Burglauenen, then over Wengen, the Männlichen and the Eigergletscher back down to the valley. In 2025 it turned out differently: for the main race day on July 19, the forecast called for thunderstorms with lightning, rain and strong wind, and the organizers adjusted the E101, E51 and E35. The E101 turned off at Feld and ran via Schwendi, Holenstein, the Männlichen and the Kleine Scheidegg back to Grindelwald, over 69 kilometers. The E16 stayed unchanged.

The 2025 routes

E250: 250 km, 18,000 m of climbing, circling Jungfrau-Aletsch as a team

E101: 69 km, 4,300 m of climbing, the version run in 2025 from Feld over the Männlichen

E51: 41 km, 2,300 m of climbing, from Feld via Schwendi back to Grindelwald

E35: start in Burglauenen, over Wengen and the Männlichen, in 2025 continuing over the Kleine Scheidegg

E16: 16 km, 950 m of climbing, loop from Grindelwald via Bort

What the relief shows

The terrain is 3D printed from precise LiDAR elevation data and mounted on a solid base of oak or Swiss stone pine. Available in four sizes from 15 x 15 to 28 x 28 cm, as a Base to stand on a shelf or table or as a Wall for hanging.
